DekTec Introduces Range of Modulator PCI Cards

DekTec will introduce at IBC a range of attractively priced modulator cards for satellite, cable and terrestrial modulation schemes. All cards include an on-board upconverter so that the RF output signal can be connected directly to a set-top box or RF distribution network.
The DTA-107 is a complete DVB-S (QPSK) modulator and L-Band upconverter on a short PCI card. The RF frequency is software-programmable between 0.9 and 2.1 GHz and the symbol rate between 0.2 and 45 MBaud. The software interface of the DTA-107 is compatible with DekTec's other DVB-ASI and DVB-SPI output cards. In combination with DekTec's StreamXpress software, the DTA-107 can be used to build a play-out station with direct RF-output compatible to DVB-S.
The second modulator card introduced at IBC is the DTA-110, a QAM modulator card for DVB-C and ITU-T J.83 Annex A, B and C. Finally, the DTA-115 supports COFDM on a short PCI card. This card will be available 2005Q1.

DTU-225 Receives Broadcast Engineering Pick-Hit Award at NAB

The FantASI USB-2 ASI/SDI Adapter has been one of the winners of the prestigious Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit awards for NAB2004.
This year, 40 products from 34 companies were honored with the award in recognition of their technological innovation. An anonymous group of judges selects products to be honored. Several criteria are used, including the product’s positive impact on the everyday work of the intended user, its technological improvement over previous products and its appropriateness in pricing for its intended users. These criteria correspond exactly to the design goals set by DekTec at the start of the FantASI project, and we acknowledge the recognition received by the industry.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit honor is the longest-running new product technology award granted in the industry.
